Evaluating the impact of active travel investment

Active Travel England (ATE) has published seven reports assessing published international evidence of the impact of active travel interventions. The results of each report will inform ATE’s approach to evaluating investment in active travel. Each report can also be used by organisations to support the development of business cases.

The reports focus on:

  • enabling adult cycling
  • enabling walking and wheeling
  • early consideration of active travel in planning and design
  • active school travel
  • economic, health and well-being impact from any active travel intervention
  • impacts on journey times, congestion and resilience from any active travel intervention
