CalCommuter

CalCommuter helps organisations and their staff better understand current and potential commuting journeys. We do this with our CalCommuter software platform which uses a short commute survey to produce individuals with Personal Commute Plans that compare the cost, duration, and emissions of their current commute with viable alternative commutes based on their work schedule and location. Alongside this, organisations get access to dashboards and automated analytics that support workplace travel planning, active and sustainable travel initiatives, parking and accessibility planning, targeted engagement activity, and Scope 3 commuting and homeworking emissions reporting.

CalCommuter works with local authorities, NHS organisations, regional transport authorities, travel behaviour change partners, colleges, universities, and large employers across the UK.

What are you working on, and what’s next?

We are currently rolling out new a “Active Connections” functionality, helping individuals and organisations better understand opportunities to combine cycling with public transport as part of everyday commuting journeys.

Alongside this, we are developing new analytics and intelligent follow-up messaging tools that help organisations and advisors better understand where realistic travel behaviour change opportunities exist across a workforce or target group.

We are also exploring how CalCommuter can support employability programmes by helping people starting new jobs better understand their commute options and costs before transport becomes a barrier to employment.
