Benjamin brings extensive experience from across the active travel sector. Before joining the team, he spent seven years at The Bikeability Trust, most recently serving as Director of Development.
A Career Built Around Cycling
When Benjamin was considering his future career, there were two clear passions: art and cycling.
Although he completed a degree in Fine Art, it was cycling that provided the first opportunities. From working in bike shop workshops and cycle coaching to delivering Bikeability training, Benjamin built a career helping people travel actively and confidently.
These early experiences led to operational and development roles with national organisations, giving him a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in promoting sustainable travel.
When the opportunity to join Modeshift arose, he knew it was the right next step.
Why Modeshift?
For Benjamin, the decision came down to two things: the mission and the people.
‘People’s lives truly are better when they cycle, walk or wheel more, and the way Modeshift supports everyday journeys is genuinely meaningful.’
Having known about Modeshift and worked alongside several members of the team over the years, Benjamin was already familiar with the organisation’s values and impact.
‘I’ve known a number of Modeshift colleagues for some time. They’re a passionate, mission-focused and genuinely lovely group of people, which made joining the team an easy decision.’
