New faces for #TeamModeshift

New Team Members: Leeanne Coatman and Tanya Blake

We’re delighted to introduce two fantastic additions to the #TeamModeshift – Leeanne Coatman and Tanya Blake! Both bring a wealth of experience, passion, and fresh perspectives to their roles, strengthening our mission to make sustainable and active travel the easy choice for everyone.

Meet Leeanne Coatman, Modeshift STARS Programme Manager (Corporate)

Leeanne’s career began in commercial radio, where a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) opportunity with Radio Forth in Edinburgh launched her into the world of media, marketing, and communication. Over the years, she’s built a strong background across multiple industries, from local press and travel to digital advertising and public transport.

For the past eight years, Leeanne has worked in the public transport sector, promoting sustainable travel initiatives across the North East and Yorkshire. She’s collaborated with local authorities, the NHS, educational institutions, and major employers to deliver behaviour change and marketing campaigns that inspire people to travel more sustainably.

On joining Modeshift, Leeanne says:

‘I’m proud to represent Modeshift and support our corporate members through valuable opportunities and networking. I love helping develop effective travel plans that lead to national accreditation and lasting sustainable change.’

Outside of work, Leeanne enjoys spending time with her grown-up daughter and her two dogs, Sonny and Bumble. She loves visiting family in Scotland and heading abroad for her next holiday adventure – always finding balance through time outdoors and a positive mindset.

Meet Tanya Blake, Education Officer, West Yorkshire

Tanya joins Modeshift after more than 20 years as a primary school teacher, having taught in Calderdale, Kent, and Leicestershire. Her passion for education, physical activity, and the environment has been a constant throughout her career, inspiring children to stay active and care for the planet.

In addition to teaching, Tanya has worked as a baby and child swim instructor, nurturing confidence and well-being through movement. Her drive for promoting active lifestyles and sustainability made Modeshift a natural fit.

Tanya says:

‘I’m passionate about helping people become more active while caring for our environment. Small changes to our everyday journeys really can make a big difference. As an education officer, I’m excited to work with schools to inspire the next generation to make sustainable travel part of their daily lives.’

When she’s not working with schools, Tanya’s likely to be outdoors – training for a triathlon, hiking in the Lake District (she’s completed 200 of the 214 Wainwright Fells!), or taking on a new endurance challenge like the London Marathon or a 100km canoe across Scotland.
