Call for Challenges: Submit your School Travel Challenges

We believe that the most effective solutions are developed collaboratively.

The National School Travel Summit 2027 will therefore be shaped by the organisations and individuals working on the front line of school travel delivery.

What’s stopping progress on school travel?

What’s broken, what’s working, and what needs to change? If you had one hour with the people shaping the future of school travel, what issue would you put on the agenda? Share your biggest challenges, emerging issues, and boldest ideas to help shape the National School Travel Summit programme.

Help shape the programme

Rather than setting the agenda ourselves, we’re building the Summit around the topics that matter most to you.

Your suggestions will directly influence the programme, helping us shape keynote sessions, panel discussions, workshops and expert clinics. Our aim is simple: everyone leaves with practical ideas, real examples and solutions they can apply in their own work.

The National School Travel Summit 2027 will be the first-ever event delivered by the School Travel Alliance, comprising of The Bikeability Trust, Living Streets, Modeshift, and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

The School Travel Alliance was created with a simple belief: we’re stronger when we work together. Bringing together the expertise, reach and influence of the Alliance’s four members, the Summit will provide a national platform for organisations committed to increasing active school travel and supporting delivery of the Government’s ambition that 60% of children aged 5–16 will usually walk, wheel, or cycle to school by 2035.

Submit your challenges

Submit your challenge to [email protected] by Monday 30 November and include a little context about why it matters to you.

Whether your challenge is technical, strategic or practical, we’d like to hear it.

Together, we’ll create a Summit that reflects the priorities of our shared community and demonstrates the value of working together to enhance everyday journeys.
