Modeshift is pleased to announce that Bradford City AFC has joined #TeamModeshift through the Modeshift STARS Leisure scheme, marking an exciting step forward in the club’s sustainability journey.
The membership aligns closely with Bradford City’s Greener Bantams initiative, led by Sustainability Lead Adam Keizer. This programme brings together a wide range of environmental actions across the club and its Community Foundation, including renewable energy, waste and water management, and engagement with supporters, local communities and business partners.
Modeshift STARS Leisure
The Modeshift STARS Leisure scheme is the fifth scheme in the STARS portfolio, following the successful rollout of STARS Education, Business, Residential and Healthcare. Each scheme is designed to empower organisations to improve everyday journeys and promote more sustainable, active and accessible travel choices.
The first component of the STARS Leisure scheme focuses on Spectator and Audience Travel Guidance, developed in partnership with the STARS Leisure Focus Group. This guidance supports venues like Bradford City in enhancing matchday travel planning and reducing environmental impact.
Adam Keizer, Sustainability Lead at Bradford City AFC, said:
‘We are pleased to be joining the Modeshift STARS Leisure scheme as part of our goal to make travel to our stadium more accessible, affordable and sustainable for supporters. Travel is a key part of our environmental impact, and this partnership helps provide structure and support to how we can improve the travel choices in Bradford.’
Adam will be sharing Bradford City’s experience and insights at the upcoming Team Talk Online event on 12 May, offering attendees a closer look at how sustainability can be embedded into sports organisations and fan engagement.
