Warrington Borough Council partners with Pindar Creative to promote sustainable travel

Warrington Borough Council (WBC) is boosting its commitment to sustainable travel by partnering with Modeshift Corporate Premium Member, Pindar Creative to utilise the Make Your Own Map portal, SALI. This dynamic tool enables schools, businesses, and workplaces in Warrington to create bespoke travel maps, encouraging active and environmentally friendly travel options such as walking, cycling, and public transport.

Pindar Creative has developed three tailored templates to support WBC’s sustainable travel goals. These templates can be printed or distributed as PDF files:

Primary schools: Helping children and their families discover safe, active routes to school.
Secondary schools: Promoting independence and sustainable travel among older pupils.
Workplaces: Designed to reduce reliance on cars and inspire greener commuting habit among employees.

The initiative is part of WBC’s Travel Choices programme, which aims to tackle congestion, improve air quality, and encourage healthier lifestyles. The programme already provides resources like anti-idling campaigns, safer transition travel initiatives, and cycle training. By integrating SALI, the council is equipping parents and staff with tailored maps that help them make informed travel decisions.
