We’re excited to welcome Matthew Scott to the Modeshift Board as our South East Regional Executive!
With a strong background in transport planning and a passion for making sustainable travel the easy choice, Matthew brings valuable experience and enthusiasm to the team.
Matthew began his career in 2019 as an undergraduate transport planner at WSP, progressing through graduate and assistant roles where he gained experience across a wide range of projects – from junction modelling and public consultation to business case development and policy writing.
Since 2023, he’s been at Buckinghamshire Council, where he leads on workplace and residential travel planning, manages feasibility studies for active travel schemes, and supports the development of strategic transport policies.
Matthew told us:
‘Modeshift’s work in promoting behaviour change and supporting travel planning aligns perfectly with my own values and professional focus. ‘I’m excited to collaborate with like minded professionals and help raise the profile of active and sustainable trave – especially in the development planning space, where there’s huge potential to influence long term travel behaviour.’
Outside of work, Matthew is an avid walker who loves heading into the hills for a good hike – often with a camping trip and a few peak climbs along the way. A dedicated football fan, he also manages a Sunday league football team in Buckinghamshire, keeping his weekends active and occasionally a little stressful!
