Partnership of Arriva, Harworth Group, and GO Travel Solutions deliver new bus services

Arriva, Harworth Group, and Modeshift Corporate Premium Members GO Travel Solutions have worked in partnership to provide new bus services.

The service is for the Hugglescote Grange and Swinfen Vale communities, which form Harworth’s 440-acre thriving South East Coalville community. Bus services 15, 29 and 29A have been rerouted so they are now serving these new and growing communities, connecting residents to work, leisure and social opportunities in Coalville and Leicester.

Jonathan Wills, the Arriva Midlands Network Manager said:

‘Arriva is delighted to be working in partnership with GO Travel Solutions and Harworth to ensure residents at Hugglescote Grange and Swinfen Vale have high-quality public transport. The rerouting of services 15, 29 and 29A provides frequent, seven-day-a-week links into Coalville and Leicester using modern, low-emission, fully accessible buses.’

He added, ‘We know we’re helping residents leave their cars at home and choose the bus because they have told us. We’re pleased they’re finding our buses a convenient and reliable option.’

David Cockroft, Managing Director – National Development Delivery at Harworth said:

‘At Harworth, our developments go beyond delivering homes, we create places where people want to live and work, and providing sustainable travel options is central to that. By partnering with Arriva and GO Travel Solutions, we’re linking South East Coalville to the wider region and making it easier for residents to access jobs and amenities. We’re delighted to bring this forward and provide true alternatives to car travel for our communities.’

Ian Murdey, Project Manager at Go Travel Solutions said:

‘As the Travel Plan Coordinators for Hugglescote Grange and Swinfen Vale, we’re delighted that Arriva are providing these services through the development.

With almost 100 residents having already taken up our free 6-month Arriva bus ticket offer via LocalGO, we know that local people really value buses as an alternative to driving for both long and short journeys. These routes truly provide an important additional transport option for everyone.’

The new bus service for Hugglescote Grange and Swinfen Vale is already up and running and plans are in place to enhance the bus service through provision of bus shelters and real time information in these communities, with further promotion to take place with local residents.
