To mark the start of International Walk to School Month, Modeshift and Living Streets welcomed speakers from across the world for our latest Team Talk Online, Walk to School Around the Globe 2026.
The session brought together international experts to share research, behaviour change programmes, school travel initiatives and infrastructure interventions that are helping more children and families choose active journeys to school. From global campaigns to local success stories, attendees gained valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of creating safer, healthier and more accessible journeys for children.
As Chris Boardman highlighted:
‘Every journey to school is an opportunity to make walking, wheeling and cycling a normal part of everyday life. When schools, families and communities work together, we can create more active journeys for children, giving them healthier and safer lives’.
If you couldn’t join us live, or would like to revisit the discussion, the recording is now available to watch on demand.
