Calling walking & community groups in Birmingham and Liverpool City Region!

Looking for inspiration for Mode Shift Month this September?

During our July Modeshift Team Talk, Hana Sutch, Co-founder and CEO of Go Jauntly, shared how the This City Moves campaign is bringing communities together through walking and helping more people enjoy everyday journeys.

Community groups, organisers and small charities in Birmingham and the Liverpool City Region can now apply for micro grants of around £250 to deliver inclusive walking or wheeling activities between 7 September and 18 October 2026. Funding can help cover costs such as refreshments, materials, travel or volunteer expenses.

The initiative supports people who don’t always see themselves reflected in the outdoors, including women, global majority communities, disabled people and others who face barriers to being active.

If you’re planning Mode Shift Month activities, this could be a great opportunity to deliver an inclusive community event while supporting this year’s theme, Mobility for Everyone.

Applications close at 11am on 28 August 2026. Find out more and apply today.
