Ashton Gate Stadium has joined the Modeshift STARS Leisure membership network, strengthening its commitment to improving travel planning for visitors, spectators and event attendees.
Located in Bristol, Ashton Gate Stadium is the South West’s leading sports, conference and events venue. Home to Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Bears Rugby Club, the stadium welcomes more than one million each year for 600 events ranging from sporting fixtures, to concerts, conferences and private get-togethers.
With a wide range of modern meeting and event spaces, Ashton Gate Stadium hosts everything from exhibitions and corporate dinners to weddings, team-building activities and pitchside events.
Supporting better event travel planning
By joining Modeshift STARS Leisure, Ashton Gate Stadium will gain access to the Modeshift STARS Leisure framework, guidance and peer network to support more effective visitor travel planning.
The venue aims to encourage more people to consider walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport options when travelling to matches and events, helping reduce congestion and improve the visitor experience.

What is Modeshift STARS Leisure?
Modeshift STARS Leisure is the fifth scheme within the Modeshift STARS programme, joining:
- STARS Education
- STARS Business
- STARS Residential
- STARS Healthcare
The scheme supports leisure destinations, venues and attractions to improve everyday journeys and visitor travel choices.
The first element of the scheme is the Spectator and Audience Travel Guidance, developed in partnership with the STARS Leisure Focus Group to help venues improve travel planning and audience access.
As interest continues to grow in better connected and more accessible venues, Ashton Gate Stadium’s membership marks another positive step for the leisure sector.
