Local Transport Summit to take place in Sheffield

Local Transport Today announced that the 2023 Local Transport Summit will take place in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on 18 and 19 October. The programme is being prepared with the help of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, principal sponsors Steer, and the Department for Transport.

Speakers from the area are being invited to join in this opportunity to share transport developments, strategy and policies for South Yorkshire and other parts of the North with transport planning and practice professionals and thought leaders from around the country. The DfT’s co Director of Local Transport, Stephen Fidler, will be among those speaking.

Following last year’s highly successful Summit in Wales, this 7th annual Summit will provide another significant occasion to consider current local transport challenges facing Transport Authorities around the country from Climate Change to securing quality public transport provision, and encouraging active travel and sustainable local development.

Further event partners are invited to come on board.
