John Hacker
Position: STARS Residential Executive
Year joined the Modeshift Board: 2022
Place of work: TPS Transport Consultants Ltd
Why did you join the Modeshift Board: At TPS we are actively involved in the implementation of over 150 residential travel plans, and personally I have been heavily involved in the preparation and implementation of residential travel plans for over 15 years. It is, therefore, an area of travel planning which I have a specific interest in, and I’m keen to use the experience I have gained to try and ensure that the benefits a residential travel plan can deliver are fully realised. I’m also a firm believer that if key stakeholders share experience and knowledge, the process of securing, preparing and implementing residential travel planning can be improved, to the benefit of all involved.
Career history: I have worked at TPS since leaving university in 2002, and so when it comes to my working life travel planning is all that I have really known.
Personal: As a middle aged (sigh!) father of two, it feels like much of my time outside of work is spent running around to clubs and activities. When time allows, I enjoy watching sport, and football in particular. I’m also a big fan of travelling and like to spend as much time as possible abroad in the sunshine.
