James Hardie, Systems, IT and Training Specialist

James joined Modeshift in 2015 as the STARS Project Officer for the national Living Streets Walk To project. For the previous 5 years James worked for Luton Borough Council as their School Sustainable Travel Advisor. In the past James has worked for Sustrans as an Active Travel Manager.

At Luton BC James was responsible for a number of projects including implementing Modeshift STARS; designing and rolling out a scooter training programme for KS1 pupils which had trained just shy of 5000 children at time of leaving; and working on the Bikes for Schools project. The Bikes for Schools project enables participation in Bikeability in a town with very low bike ownership.

A qualified Bikeability National Standards Instructor Trainer, James has a broad base of practical experience as well as software training and support.
