Heather Bolton
Position: Treasurer
Year joined the Board: April 2005
Place of work: Telford and Wrekin Council
Brief Career History: I have worked in the transport field since 2003, initially for Stoke on Trent City Council as the Walking Bus Co-ordinator and then for Telford & Wrekin Council as School Travel Plan Co-ordinator, and then Travel Plan Co-ordinator. In 2016 I moved to the Strategic Transport Team and became a Transport Planner. As Transport Planner I am involved in the development and delivery of all transport policy, strategies and projects as well as assessing travel plans secured through the planning process.
Why you joined the board: I joined the Modeshift Board in 2005, when it was known as the Local Authority School Travel Forum. Travel Plan Officer roles within Local Government were still relatively new, and I regularly attended the early meetings of the group sharing knowledge and best practice. When the opportunity came to be involved, and continue to share knowledge, and best practice I took the chance. (though I didn’t think I would still be here over 16 years later!). I have seen the organisation grow and achieve so much over the years.
Something personal about you: In my spare time I like to read, spend time with the family, do family history research, and visit places around the UK especially the seaside!
