Career history:
My career began in commercial radio, where I was offered a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) position with Radio Forth in Edinburgh following a two-week work experience placement, my enthusiasm clearly made an impression! During this time, I gained valuable experience across multiple departments, including sales advertising, marketing, and commercial scheduling.
After moving to the North East of England, I spent a short period working in local press advertising before transitioning into the travel industry, where I spent 14 years developing strong customer service and commercial skills. I later returned to my roots in commercial radio sales, building a combined 15 years’ experience across digital audio, outdoor, and online marketing campaigns.
For the past eight years, I have worked in the public transport sector, promoting sustainable travel initiatives across the North East and Yorkshire. In this role, I’ve collaborated with local authorities, the NHS, educational institutions, and large employers to deliver impactful behaviour change and marketing campaigns that encourage sustainable travel choices.
Why did you join Modeshift:
I am proud to represent Modeshift, supporting our corporate members through valuable opportunities and networking. I take great satisfaction in helping clients develop effective travel plans towards national accreditation, while building lasting professional relationships that drive sustainable outcomes and community engagement.
Outside of Modeshift:
Outside of work, I love spending time with my grown-up daughter (when she needs me!) and absolutely adore being out and about with my two dogs, Sonny and Bumble, who are very much my babies now. I enjoy visiting family and friends back in Scotland whenever I can, and I’m always ready for my next overseas holiday adventure. For me, being able to switch off and enjoy life is essential to staying healthy and keeping a calm, positive mind.
