Career history:
The majority of my career has been as a Ranger in parks and open spaces, teaching all ages about the environment. I managed parks in Halton and West Lancashire, running events, art projects, conservation tasks and working with Friends of Parks groups. Sometimes that involved putting fires out and saving wildlife. I’ve also been a Bikeability Instructor for British Cycling and a Breeze Leader, encouraging more females into cycling.
Why did you join Modeshift:
In all the jobs I do I strive to have a positive influence and change people’s perceptions and actions for the better. I feel working for Modeshift will have a positive benefit for all, improving young people’s lives and health and helping them to discover the great outdoors.
Outside of Modeshift:
A few years ago, I discovered paddle boarding and there’s nothing like that moment when you stand up on your board and all stress just melts away. I also love cycling, as it was a means to get out and about as a young person and to this day I feel the freedom it brings. I’ve seen some of the best sightings of nature when pedalling or paddling along. I also enjoy jogging, ceramics and walking with my Hubbie, family and Boxer pooch, Willow.
