Sustainable travel incentives extended to Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach residents

As part of its ongoing commitment to design new communities that encourage and support a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, master developer Urban&Civic has introduced LocalGO – a sustainable travel incentive scheme coordinated by Modeshift Corporate Premium Members GO Travel Solutions – to its Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach developments.

Successfully implemented at Wintringham, St Neots, LocalGO is a national scheme designed to make sustainable travel options more accessible and affordable by providing residents with various bus, rail and cycling discounts.  This includes offers from a broad range of participating retailers such as Halfords, Enterprise and Railcard, as well as local cycling stores.

Rebecca Britton, Regional Director for Urban&Civic, said: “Putting the right infrastructure and services in place for people to lead active and low carbon lives is central to our vision to create sustainable new communities. But designing and delivering the infrastructure is only one part: and it only works if you work with residents to create a culture to activate these spaces and services. Working on the ground with our smart journeys partners and embedding the great incentives and promotional work of GO Travel Solutions is enabling residents across our new communities to save carbon and money: making every journey count with smart travel choices.”

Robin Pointon, Managing Director at GO Travel Solutions, added: ‘We’re thrilled to welcome the Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach communities into the LocalGO family. This tailored package of travel incentives encourages more sustainable transport choices and will help residents to save money and reduce carbon emissions.’
