Step into Mode Shift Month with the STEPtember Walking Challenge
As part of Mode Shift Month 2025, we’re excited to highlight a brand new challenge to help you make everyday journeys more active – STEPtember with Modeshift Corporate Premium Members Go Jauntly.
The challenge is simple: walk 120,000 steps across September (that’s around 4,000 steps a day) to boost your wellbeing, discover your local area, and make walking part of your daily routine.
Best of all, taking part in STEPtember counts towards your Mode Shift Month activities – so whether you’re walking to school, striding into work, or taking time out for your health, every step helps you on the way to a Mode Shift Month Award.

This September, Go Jauntly invites you to take part in STEPtember, a feel-good walking challenge designed to boost your wellbeing.
The goal is simple: walk 120,000 steps by the end of the month, that’s about 4,000 steps a day. Whether you’re already a keen walker or just starting out, it’s a flexible and friendly way to add more movement to your daily life.
STEPtember is run in partnership with Sandwell Council as part of their Healthy Sandwell initiative, but the challenge is free and open to everyone, wherever you are in the UK.
‘Walking is such a powerful way to improve both our physical and mental health, STEPtember is about helping people build small, achievable habits that not only make them feel better but also help them discover and enjoy their local area as the season changes.’
