Modeshift Corporate Premium Member Pindar Creative has designed and created a new map and companion leaflet for Environmental Projects in Kirklees (EPIKS) helping to bring their Walk Wheel Ride active travel initiative to life in Huddersfield and across Kirklees.
EPIKS is a locally rooted not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving access to the outdoors, promoting sustainable transport and supporting healthier, more connected communities across the Kirklees district. Through community projects, partnerships and practical resources, EPIKS encourages more people to walk, wheel, including using mobility aids, and cycle on everyday journeys, reducing reliance on cars and lowering carbon emissions.
Walk Wheel Ride is a project created and managed by EPIKS, designed to help people feel confident choosing active travel. It connects residents with advice, training, guided rides and practical tools, supported by a network of Active Travel Hubs across Huddersfield, the Holme Valley, Batley and the Spen Valley.
The team at Pindar Creative worked closely with EPIKS to design an accessible, easy-to-use printed map and leaflet highlighting six key cycle routes around Huddersfield. The routes link the town centre with quieter streets, greenways, canals and local destinations, helping users avoid busy roads while discovering points of interest along the way. The final design combines clear mapping, welcoming visuals, route summaries, guidance on cycling etiquette, and QR codes for further information.
