Team Modeshift United: Better Everyday Journeys Together

11 and 12 November 2026, Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester United Football Club (NEW venue)

We’re excited to announce that the National Modeshift Convention 2026 will take place at the iconic home of Manchester United, Old Trafford – and we’re inviting you to be part of the programme.

The National Modeshift Convention – Modeshift United – celebrates the idea that no single organisation, sector, or individual can achieve change alone.

Modeshift United

This year, we focus on showcasing outstanding teamwork, deepening relationships across sectors, and building a truly united national network committed to enhancing everyday journeys. Through shared learning, partnership-building, and real-world case studies, we’ll explore how working together can improve outcomes across communities, workplaces, education, transport, and leisure settings.

As we celebrate 25 years of Modeshift (2001–2026), we’re bringing together professionals from across the UK to showcase outstanding teamwork, share ideas, experiences and practical solutions that improve everyday journeys.

Share your ideas, inspire others

We’re looking for speakers who can share real examples of collaboration in action. This is not just about what you’ve delivered, but how you worked with others to make it happen.

Session Focus:

  • Community engagement (including population wide engagement)
  • Public transport (including bus, train, tram)
  • Education settings (including schools, SEND, Early Years)
  • Further and Higher Education Establishments
  • Workplace engagement
  • Healthcare settings
  • Residential Travel Planning
  • Leisure settings (sports / arts / music / cultural events)

Topics

  • Growing Team Modeshift – engaging new audiences
  • Filling the gaps – who are we NOT talking to and how do we get them involved
  • Stakeholder engagement – building your team
  • Building and working with an effective network
  • Effective communication and leadership
  • Principles of persuasion and influence
  • Using data and research to drive support
  • Effective policy and guidance
  • Hearing from the ‘do-ers’ – from strategy to street, making active travel happen

Above all, we want to hear from the teams making a difference on the ground – turning ideas into action.

A woman in a red off-the-shoulder top speaks into a microphone at a podium, standing in front of a banner for "MODESHIFT SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL" to an audience.

Why get involved?

  • Share your work with a national audience
  • Be part of a high-profile event in a brand-new venue
  • Help shape the future of how people travel every day
  • Connect with the growing #TeamModeshift network
