Go Travel Solutions has been reappointed to continue its travel plan coordination work at the 4,250-home New Lubbesthorpe development near Leicester.
The company has been appointed by The Drummond Estate, with the three-year contract aiming to ensure that as the development evolves local sustainable travel options are widely promoted and developed.
This includes the ArrivaClick demand responsive transport bus service and free access to travel offers via membership of LocalGo.
Go Travel Solutions has fulfilled the role of travel plan coordinator since 2018.
Managing director Robin Pointon said: “Our work in New Lubbesthorpe focuses on the promoting and development of sustainable travel. Working with Drummond Estate over the last three years has been based on close collaboration and partnership working.
“More than anything else, it has been under pinned by shared values on wanting to help New Lubbesthorpe be a truly sustainable 21st century community.”
New Lubbesthorpe is providing new homes, schools, community facilities and an employment park adjacent to the M1/M69. The development will also provide 325 acres of new parklands.
More than 500 homes are now occupied at the site, with Davidsons, Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Redrow Homes bringing forward a range of housing types. In addition to the £15m new motorway bridge, a new primary school has already opened.
Ultimately, the development will provide up to 4,250 houses, an employment park capable of creating 1,000 jobs, three schools, district and local centres and health facilities.
Martin Ward on behalf of the Drummond Estate, said: “New Lubbesthorpe is a sustainable new community and Go Travel Solutions has successfully helped to roll out initiatives which provide attractive and viable alternatives to using the car.
“We are keen to see their great work continue to ensure that this continues to be a pioneering development.”
