Get set for an active and sustainable travel themed December with our 12 active travel days of December song and calendar.
To the tune of the classic 12 Days of Christmas, Modeshift will be sharing 15 Days of Green Travel Tips! Each day leading up to the end of term, they’ll offer creative ideas for eco-friendly and active ways to get to school, work, or other destinations.
December is a bustling month filled with festivities and community events, making it the perfect time to combine green travel initiatives with other seasonal campaigns! Alongside Modeshift’s 15 Days of Green Travel Tips, you can also join in on activities like Winter Wheelers with Love to Ride, Alzheimer’s Society Elf day, Save the Children Christmas jumper day, Treetops Hospice Reindeer dash. Plus, it’s a great chance to encourage walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling, or taking the bus, train, or—if the snow falls—maybe even a sledge or skis!
The Active Travel Days of December theme can also be used to link to other activities in the Modeshift STARS scheme to help towards gaining travel plan accreditation. For example you could organise a festive bling your wheels day, hold an active elf breakfast for those who walk or wheel or support a charity with fund raising activities with elf ears, Santa outfit or reindeer antlers as part of the school or workplace journey.
And of course, for those in fine voice you can join in with the song too!
