Minister for Local Transport, Simon Lightwood, to present Awards at National STARS Summit

The Modeshift STARS National Travel Awards winners will be announced next month at our National STARS Summit, where we’ll be Celebrating Sustainable Travel Excellence.

Active Travel England are making sure local authorities can provide high-quality and easily accessible active travel schemes across England. Last week they unveiled nearly £300 million in funding to enhance and expand active travel initiatives across the country.

This includes £1 million for Modeshift to support the growth of our Modeshift STARS schemes —including STARS Education, Business, Healthcare, and Residential—as well as the expansion of the Active Travel Ambassadors (ATA) programme to more regions.

On the back of this news, we are excited to welcome Simon Lightwood MP to our National STARS Summit next month, where he will present our prestigious Modeshift STARS National Travel Awards.

This year’s awards will celebrate outstanding achievements across Business, Healthcare, and Residential sectors with the introduction of the STARS Business, STARS Healthcare, and STARS Residential ‘Sites of the Year’ categories.

Modeshift STARS National Awards 2025 include:
