Active Travel England – Message to all planning authorities

Active Travel England (ATE) have updated their planning application toolkit to better support your work with ATE as a statutory consultee on all new large developments.

The planning application assessment toolkit helps to gather evidence and assess the active travel merits – walking, wheeling and cycling – of a development proposal.

Design and transport consultants are encouraged to complete the toolkit and include it within planning applications that meet the thresholds for consulting ATE. Local authority officers can use the toolkit within assessments of development proposals.
