If you are looking for free active travel learning resources to share with schools you work with, check out the new selection from Modeshift partners Brightkidz social enterprise. They can all be downloaded and shared freely.
This month their latest activity sheet – Cycle Style – looks at the different kinds of cycles and demonstrates that not all cycles have two wheels and there is quite a range to meet the different needs of different people. All the background information teachers or parents may require is in the accompanying blog.
Additional activity sheets are also linked to at the end of the Cycle Style blog, for example ‘Walkies Animal Counting game’ which encourages children to go for a walk and count the animals they see, ‘Travel Habits Family Interview’ to stimulate family discussions on how they travel and ‘Better Streets Squad’ to open their eyes to what makes their own street a better place.
