Reclaiming Narratives: The inspiring theme for Black History Month 2024
This year’s Black History Month theme, “Reclaiming Narratives,” centres on recognising and correcting the stories surrounding Black history and culture.
As part of this celebration, we took a closer look at Akwesi Osei’s article, Barriers to Black Men Cycling in London, which is backed by research from the Active Travel Academy. The study, based on interviews and focus groups with Black men in London, sheds light on the unique challenges and opportunities they face in cycling.
In line with this year’s theme, we invite our members to share their own stories of overcoming barriers and embracing the benefits of active travel. Let’s reclaim these positive narratives together.
