Healthy Streets is an evidence-based approach to creating fairer, sustainable and attractive urban spaces.

Every decision we make about our built environment, however small, is an opportunity to deliver better places for people to live in and thereby improve their health. The Healthy Streets Approach is a human-centred framework for embedding public health in transport, public realm and planning.

The Team at Healthy Streets would like to share with you a new on-street assessment tool for Healthy Streets.

While there are already a number of free Healthy Streets tools for practitioners, this is a quick, online tool that anyone can use to generate an instant score for how healthy their street is.

It is suitable for practitioners too, but is aimed at a wider audience to support engagement and advocacy.

What To Do

  1. Open this link on your phone
  2. Take a tour to see what this new tool offers
  3. Register for an account if you want to keep your result, or continue as a guest
  4. Go outside onto the street you want to score
  5. Score your street based on how you feel or measure it quantitatively
  6. Add photos and notes if you want
  7. Generate your score
  8. Share your results and download your report

Healthy Streets will be running some free seminars to introduce the tools, functionality and uses in the coming months, details of these sessions will be shared at a later date.
