Presentation Summary: Barriers to rail travel
Rail travel in the Midlands is underused in comparison to other parts of the country with only 3% of people using rail on a regular basis. Midlands Connect, an independent partnership of Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships, wanted to explore what stops people from travelling by train and how these can be addressed to encourage greater rail travel. Behavioural insights specialists from Mott MacDonald undertook research to understand the capabilities, opportunities and potential motivations for greater rail travel with non and infrequent train users. This presentation will discuss our findings.
