Scarborough Students Back Clean Air Day with Active Travel Campaign
We’re proud to see our Active Travel Ambasador’s from St Augustine’s School in Scarborough feature on This is Coast Local Radio station.
As part of their involvement in the Modeshift STARS Active Travel Ambassador Programme, Pupils at Saint Augustine’s School in Scarborough have been working on a campaign this week to reduce traffic congestion around the school and promote active travel. This coincided with Clean Air Day on the 15 June.

St Augustines recently won the Modeshift STARS Secondary School of the Year Award for the Yorkshire and Humber region for its commitment to obtaining the Modeshift STARS Gold Award.
To achieve their Gold award, St Augustine’s worked closely with their students, staff, parents, governors, local councillors and North Yorkshire County Council’s Sustainable Travel team, which nominated the school for the Modeshift STARS Secondary School of the Year Award.
