A warm Modeshift welcome to our newest Executive Board Member
Emma Allan joins team Modeshift as our North East, Yorkshire and Humber Executive Board Member.
Emma joined the world of sustainable transport in 2008 working as an active travel coordinator at Sustrans focusing on workplaces, and then as a school active travel coordinator. Emma told us: ‘ I’ve worked at a couple of consultancies with secondments to the regional transport team to support the programme management of various funding streams. Now I’m at Gateshead Council where my remit includes road safety and school active travel as well as behaviour change projects and active travel social prescribing.’
And a little bit more about Emma: ‘I was lucky to grow up in a family with a livery yard so have always been an outdoorsy and hands on person – although I often overestimate my ability when it comes to DIY projects I do still like to try and build things and fix things. I own two small humans so I’m teaching them how to take care of their world and love the outdoors, being active and the environment.’
