April 2005
Telford and Wrekin Council
I have worked in the transport field since 2003, initially for Stoke on Trent City Council as the Walking Bus Co-ordinator and then for Telford & Wrekin Council as School Travel Plan Co-ordinator, and then Travel Plan Co-ordinator. In 2016 I moved to the Strategic Transport Team and became a Transport Planner. As Transport Planner I am involved in the development and delivery of all transport policy, strategies and projects as well as assessing travel plans secured through the planning process.
I joined the Modeshift Board in 2005, when it was known as the Local Authority School Travel Forum. Travel Plan Officer roles within Local Government were still relatively new, and I regularly attended the early meetings of the group sharing knowledge and best practice. When the opportunity came to be involved, and continue to share knowledge, and best practice I took the chance. (though I didn’t think I would still be here over 16 years later!). I have seen the organisation grow and achieve so much over the years.
In my spare time I like to read, spend time with the family, do family history research, and visit places around the UK especially the seaside!
Modeshift supports, inspires, and champions individuals and organisations that are working to deliver interventions and strategies to improve everday journeys.
