Brightkidz Guest Blog - School Reflector Shops, Tips for Engaging with Schools and Shout About Your Success

November is always a bit crazy here at Brightkidz… and this year more than usual.

The clocks have gone back and for these darker evenings reflectors and lights can help many children (and adults) to be bright. Our Reflector Shop Packs are proving popular as they enable pupils to set up their own stalls at schools - ideal for schools on a tight budget and this activity counts towards STARS.

Wasn’t it a fantastic Modeshift conference this year? I was really honoured to be awarded the ‘Individual Contribution to Sustainable Travel Award’ and thank you to everyone who voted for me or who gave me such warm congratulations after.

Although we may prefer to be modest, I think it is important for all of us who won or were shortlisted to share our achievements as it raises the profile of the sector. So I’ve peppered my social media with mentions of my award and will happily retweet, like etc anyone elses I see (tag #modeshift2018 and follow web link below for my social media).

The benefits of social media came up in my presentation ‘Engaging with primary schools - techniques from the business world’. For those who missed it or if you want a reminder of the ten tips to help you, see my link below. This also gives info on the free Brightkidz sample pack offer for delegates which we have extended to any Modeshift local authority member even if you weren’t there (but be quick, ends 19 Nov)!

At Brightkidz we’re looking forward to attending a few more events soon… the STARS regional awards in Stoke and York, Road Safety GB in Brighton and lots of local events with schools. Do come and say ‘Hi’ if you spot us.

Finally, if any more school travel professionals would like printed copies of our flyer for schools please let me know your details and how many schools you have. Or download the pdf version here to view or share.

That’s all folks! Have a safe, active autumn.
