60 seconds with Modeshift Convention Speaker Joe Green

Joe Green is Transport Behaviour Manager at Birmingham City Council. He spoke at the Modeshift Convention about ‘Utilising STARSfor to deliver Effective Travel Plans.’

How long have you been involved with Modeshift and in what capacity? Five to six years in various capacities, as in my previous job I worked for Sustrans West Midlands.

If you could only choose to promote one way to travel, what would it be and why? Bike, because it is a quick, easy way to making short door-to-door journeys (but I like being able to travel in different ways).

Tell us something we didn’t know about you? I’ve played in an internal football world cup tournament.

What’s your biggest work achievement to date? Working with people in Kings Heath on reimagining the High Street, as featured in last year’s BBC Fighting for Air Documentary.

What do you do for fun? I enjoy my job! But I also enjoy watching and playing sports, seeing live music socialising with friends – and I need to start training for a 100 mile bike ride that I’ve signed up for next May! Velo Birmingham.
