Cambridgeshire County Council’s Place and Economy Directorate delivers services across areas such
as transport, new infrastructure, roads, and the environment. It aims to manage and deliver the
growth and development of sustainable communities, meet the challenges of climate change and
enhance the natural environment.
The Road Safety team sits within the Transport Strategy and Network Management Service and is
developing a centre of excellence within the Council across road safety disciplines. The Council has
recently adopted a Vision Zero strategy aiming to eliminate road deaths and severe injuries by 2040
and is looking for people who share this ambitious vision to join the team leading on the Safe Road
and Safe Road User aspects of this strategy.
The service operates flexibly, with opportunities to work remotely as well as a central base in
Huntingdon but the ability to travel to different locations across the county is essential.
The Council offers a variety of benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, a generous
annual leave allowance with the option to buy additional leave, flexible working, opportunities for
learning and development up to degree level and the prospect of playing a key role in delivering an
ambitious road safety strategy that will benefit all road users in Cambridgeshire.
