Brief career history: I have a portfolio career having started my working life as sociology graduate, I promptly went off and trained as an actor and was a thespian for six years. Then I found myself working in media sales, followed by 15 years in journalism, before getting involved in active travel. I began as a Bikeability instructor went on to manage Islington Council’s in-house cycle training scheme. These days my Islington portfolio also includes bike hangars, dockless cycle hire, School Streets, STARS and cycle parking.

Something personal about you: Two things – I have and allotment and I love making jams and chutneys, as well as baking bread. And I race tandems
