Chris Ward
Position: East England Regional Representative & STARS Community Representative
Year joined the Board: 2017
Place of work: Suffolk County Council, Active Travel Officer since March 2012
Brief career history: I previously worked for Suffolk Trading Standards, HSBC and in hospitality and catering
Why did you join the Modeshift Management Board: I wanted to help expand the influence of the East of England Travel Planners Forum that I set up in 2013 with other authorities in the region. Modeshift were invited to a regional meeting and then encouraged me to apply for the then vacant Regional Representative role for the East of England to merge the two groups together. This allowed the authorities in the East of England to share their best practice on a national stage
Outside of Modeshift: I am really into dance music and did do a few mixes for the student radio when I was at university (please visit www.mixcloud.com/chris180uk/ for previously saved mixes). As a consequence of this I am also into rhythm video games, where I even learnt how to beat expert level tracks on Dance Dance Revolution (a rekindled guilty pleasure from over 20 years ago!) using an old adapted PlayStation mat during lockdown to help me keep fit!
