Position: Regional Representative for North East, Yorkshire and Humberside
Year joined the board: 2021
Place of work: City of York Council, Travel Planning Officer since 2020
Career history: After studying Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Exeter, I spent a few years working in Waste and Recycling for a few different local authorities. I then got into travel behaviour change at North Yorkshire County Council in 2018, working mostly with schools and higher education. I’m interested in anything that helps the environment, and working in active travel is a great way for me to do that.
Why joined the board: I’m very conscious that it’s easy for local authorities to feel like they’re working in a bubble, so I’m looking to support the region through the networking and information sharing opportunities available with Modeshift. I’m also hoping to get involved in the wider, more strategic work that Modeshift does.
Personal: I love dogs, I’ve got two of my own and used to run a volunteering project with a local rescue centre when I was a student. I also enjoy doing a lot of DIY, and am currently converting a campervan (for holidays with the dogs!).
